Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
Still Syndrome (systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis)
Still's disease when there is a special form of rheumatoid arthritis.
It occurs in young people and affects the joints in addition to other organ systems (extra-articular involvement).
The prognosis of this disease is unfavorable.
Symptoms
- Symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis
- Fever
- Swelling of the liver and spleen (hepatosplenomegaly)
- Inflammation of the pericardium and lung membranes (polyserositis)
- any lymph node swelling
Diagnosis
- It shows the typical picture of rheumatoid arthritis
- negative rheumatoid factor
Complications
- Amyloidosis (deposits of proteins in the connective tissue with resulting disturbance of the mass transfer)
- Blindness as a result of recurrent inflammation of the iris
